Care of the Sick

For families who are dealing with the burden of significant illness, the fustration that sometimes accompanies contacting a priest can make matters even worse. Because of a number of contributing factors, families may have difficulty locating a priest who can visit a sick family member either at home or in the hospital.

Our clergy takes the responsibility of responding to this pastoral need promptly and with compassion. Besides visiting our own parishioners in several regional medical centers in our area, our priests also respond to local people outside of our parish who have experienced such difficulties.

Our more flexible church discipline allows them to anoint those from whom the sacraments may ordinarily be withheld in accord with canon law.

Counsellors and health professionals are unanimous regarding the devastating effects of addiction on our society. Fr. Jack Kearney has dedicated much of his ministry as a priest to the life-saving mission of fighting the disease of alcoholism, and the abuse of prescription or dangerous drugs. Click here to visit his website to learn how we can help you or a family member to begin a recovery program, or how we can train individuals to join the forces opposing these diseases as addiction counselors.
