Sacramental Outreach

The sacramental outreach of Good Shepherd Church seeks to serve people outside of our parish community who are in need of the spiritual benefits of Catholic Christian ministry. It is a natural outgrowth of the unique nature of our Independent Catholic Church.

Good Shepherd is one of the best living examples of what can result when Catholic priests unite with the ministry of an Independent Catholic bishop and, with the people, form a typical middle of the road contemporary Catholic parish with a more flexible discipline than observed in Roman Catholic churches.

Our clergy has been educated in Roman Catholic seminaries. and our priests have served formerly in Roman Catholic assignments. Our bishops were ordained into the episcopal office by a bishop "twice removed" in succession from a bishop consecrated in the Roman Catholic Church.

While we do not claim to satisfy the dictates of Roman Catholic canon law regarding marriage for Roman Catholics, the participation of our bishops in an unmistakable apostolic succession, assures us of the validity of our celebration of the seven sacraments.

Our eagerness to be the solution you find, rather than the obstacle you encounter will, in most cases, end the dilemma which lies at the root of the often heard statement, "I can't find a priest who can ...."
