Rev. Dr. Cesar G. Espineda is a pastoral psychotherapist, clinical theologian, and educator in private practice in Manhattan, New York City. He is the Founding Director-Training Supervisor of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at One Spirit Learning Alliance, Inc. in Manhattan. He has conducted CPE programs in Manhattan, White Plains, New York, and Hartford, Connecticut. He is currently doing supervisory education program in CPE at Harlem Hospital Center, and at the Good Shepherd Church in Lakewood City, California.
He was Vice President for Counseling Services and Ethics Program at Continuum Hospice Care-Jacob Perlow Hospice, where he founded a hospice-palliative based CPE program. His trained lay and ordained professionals included persons of all faiths including orthodox rabbinic students from Yeshiva University in New York City.
While pursuing his graduate studies, his pastoral and sacramental assignments included ministries at Holy Family, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, and Epiphany Church in Manhattan, and Christ the King Church in the South Bronx, New York. His missionary activities took him to Australia, New Zealand, and Western and American Samoa.
He holds a Master of Philosophy in ecumenical studies, a post graduate degree, from Union Theological Seminary, New York City. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in administration and supervision, an Advance Professional Diploma in religion and religious education, and a Master of Arts in pastoral care and counseling from Fordham University, New York City. The Divine Word Seminary in the Philippines awarded him a degree in theology and philosophy, and UTS recognized his graduate theological studies with a Master in Sacred Theology degree.
He is a Diplomate-Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress in the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress (AETS); Diplomate-Training Supervisor in CPE, Board Certified Clinical Chaplain, and Board Certified Pastoral Counselor in the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy. He is an associate member of the American Psychoanalytic Association, and a member of Asia-Pacific Palliative Care Network, New York Citizens’ Committee on Health Care Decisions, Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, and Southern Gerontology Society.
